Everything has value in itself, which usually can be evaluated by money. However, there are so much things that can't be evaluated by money esp. time, knowledge, compassion, health, and etc.
The value of money for you depend on how hard and how much you get paid. If you have an easy and well paid job, just a buck of dollar may not much for you to burn which seems like you don't see any much value of it. Instead, if you work is hard and uncomfortable with low paid, you will surely love any buck you have.
There is a way of self-practicing to be more careful in money spending that I found by myself.
- It is trying to simulate the experience of having less money to spend which maybe by keeping as less money as you can in the spending account just for very basic living in each month without any room left for such a lavish spending, and keep the other money in the other saving account that is very hard to withdraw.
- The other law is that just use the same stuff until they are broken or sold to other people(which also helps saving the environment)
Then continue doing this until you found that your superfluous money spending has been changed to be more considerate spending.
There are so many times that money can fix things, such as buy more comfort and convenience, the faster time, new exciting experiences, new innovations, and etc. In many cases, it does really produce benefits to life. But in the superfluvous case, there are so many other more creative and effective way to have the same result, not just by spending money.
P.S There are some valuable things that money can't buy but you must spend with your time, effort and perseverance. These are good heath(body and mind) by exercise and mindfulness practicing, sophisticated and well knowledgeable mind by reading more and more, etc.
